"Evangelist" for Business Owners gives Advice Beyond Investing

We were thrilled to feature James Jack on today's episode, who is the head of Business Owners and Multigenerational Client Segments at UBS Wealth Management. James calls himself an "Evangelist to business owners" and advisors as a frontline advocate championing the best outcomes for owners of privately held and closely held companies across the country.  For James, it's all about providing great service before all else. As he puts it "advice beyond investing"

He has spent his entire career at UBS in various roles and feels blessed to be working for a firm with great people and plenty of opportunities for growth and innovation. He and his colleagues at UBS work hard to provide valuable resources and learning opportunities for their clients as well as their advisors, because as James says, "everything at UBS goes through the financial advisor, so we want to foster those lifelong relationships with clients and provide services and advice outside of the investing portion of our work".

One tip James shared that struck me was his way of illustrating the importance of a right fit advisor/client relationship. If you were on a cross country flight with this person, would you enjoy the time, or would you not? I've always maintained that having a match in values and what you believe are important components of a lasting and meaningful relationship, which is at the end of the day, the primary goal between the owner and their financial advisor.
